Welcome

Dear whisky enthusiast,

Welcome to my website, dedicated to the water of life: Whisky. An alcoholic beverage obtained by distillation. The term is derived from the Gaelic uisge-beatha, later shortened to usquebaugh, and meaning, like the Latin aqua vitae and the French eau de vie, "water of life."

The Scotch whiskies are divided into four regions:
- Highlands; from the area above the line Dundee-Greenock
- Lowland; from the area south of this line
- Islay; from the isle of Islay
- Campbeltown; from distilleries on the Mull of Kintyre

De Highland region is very large and is often divided into districts:
- Northern Highlands
- Western Highlands
- Eastern Highlands
- Speyside
- Islands (Arran, Mull, Jura, Skye, Orkney)

Every week I add new bottlings, so please come back frequently. In most cases the nosing and tasting notes are provided by the distillery. I sincerely hope that you will find the necessary information about a bottling. This website is only informative, I'm not responsible for any mistakes or errors. Any remarks or bottle shots can be send to info@whisky-online.net.

Enjoy !

Stefan Saeys.
