Bruichladdich Waves - 7 year old - 46%
Cask:
Matured in bourbon casks for 7 years then finished in Malmsey Madeira casks.

Palate:

Finish:

Bruichladdich - 10 year old
Cask:
60% amerikaanse eik, 40% sherry.
Colour:
Mellow yellow.
Nose:
Assertive youthful bouquet with lots of honeysuckle, myrtle, green apple, soft pear, green grapes, garden mint, warm dry hay and oak shavings, plus a sprinkle of salt and crushed sea shells. No heavy peat reek to mask its zest.
Palate:
Simple and succulent with the sweet flavours of home made fudge, toasted malt and mead. This is followed by fresh citrus fruits, tangerine and orange, with a zip of sherbet and a fresh ozone breeze to cool the fire of youth.
Finish:
Like a Scottish Reel it is full of action. Takes your breath away.

Bruichladdich - 12 year old
Cask:
Colour:
Bright golden syrup.
Nose:
It’s like walking into a garden/orchard after a shower of rain and the sun is warming the air. The floral/fruit notes are incredible. Pink candied almonds, soft marshmallow, Madeira cake, carnations, apple blossom, lilac, myrtle. A beautiful citrussy aroma wraps it all up in fresh linen, but not before the mighty oaks play their part, adding weight, power and performance. Simultaneously strong and scintillating.
Palate:
The sweet oak flavours burst onto the palate, confident in their quality , strong and flavoursome, flooding the palate with Islay character and warmth. You have to wait just a little for the richness and fruitiness to emerge. Look for lip-smacking black cherries towards the finish.
Finish:
The interplay of oak, spirit and its youth provide a finish of depth and finesse.

Bruichladdich - Second Edition - 12 year old
Cask:
Colour:

Polished Copper.
Nose:
All the Bruichladdich key notes emerge, gently led by the fruitiness of passion fruit, pear, gooseberry, apricot and apple, encased in sweet and mellow seasoned oak with just a hint of bourbon and soft vanilla. This moves onto butterscotch and floral aromas of mountain thyme, wild gorse, primrose and buttercup. Then it’s the turn of the toasted malted barley, sweet and crisp, bringing contrast and balance to the olfactory matrix.
Palate:
The spirit is amazingly sweet, thanks to the slow distillation and fresh American oak. It’s a whisky with sunshine in its soul and a spring in its step, confident in its quality and ability to deliver single malt satisfaction. The malt, oak, fruit, and floral flavours meld into a delectable gratifying experience that only unchilfiltered caramel free spirits can provide.
Finish:
Fairly lengthy, the natural oils in the spirit ensuring the flavours remain sweet and viscous on the palate longer than most malts of a similar age.

Bruichladdich - 15 year old
Cask:
85% amerikaanse eik, 15% olorosso sherry.
Colour:
Warm honey / golden syrup.
Nose:
Distinctive and intriguing, it opens slowly, then picks up beautiful aromas of fresh flowers, heather and yellow gorse. Wait a little and you will find fudge, crème brûlée, dried banana and a snap of sherry.
Palate:
A real honest old style whisky flavour is immediately apparent. Lots of sweet malt, digestive biscuits, butterscotch, tropical fruit. Lashings of oak and a sprinkle of sea spray and dry seaweed remind you of its 15 years maturing by the ocean. Islay without the hammer. Full of style and sophistication.
Finish:
It lingers gently on the palate.

Bruichladdich - Second Edition - 15 year old
Cask:
Colour:

Lovely golden honey / Yellow Spring Gorse.
Nose:
The rich golden Sauterne notes emerge elegantly from the glass with soft dried sultanas and layers of green and yellow fruits. A distinctive almond nougat sweetness beautifully complimented by biscuity malted barley and a mesmerizing oak mix as the three different wood varieties meld together. Add honeysuckle and hints of Olorosso sherry with bourbon vanilla in the mix, plus the passing presence of Islay marine aromatics. All harmoniously come together to rise and seduce the olfactory doubters.
Palate:
The sweet wine influence together with the summer dried malted barley is as one, each complimenting the other. The mouth feel is irresistible creamy and simply delicious. The quality and flavour of the single malt is focused and while it enjoys the intimate acquaintance of the wine, it never totally succumbs to its charms.
Finish:
Lovely from start to finish and gives great satisfaction.

Bruichladdich - 17 year old
Cask:
100% American Oak casks.
Colour:
Barley sugar.
Nose:

Initially the aromas are of sweet cereals, then as it opens, custard creams and vanilla wafers are revealed followed by cedar and wild mint with just a hint of spice. Then the fruits evolve, nuances of green apples, fresh pear, ripe gooseberry and green grapes. Oak chips by the bucketful and toasted malt extract hold it all together and retain the balance of fruit and cereal.
Palate:
Mouth-filling and delicious, incredibly complex and crisp. The oak in its prime does not overpower the malty sweetness nor the fresh green fruits in this parade of flavours. The oils retained from not chill-filtering succulently coat the palate with maple syrup sweetness. It’s scrumptious. The flavours are highlighted by the freshness only coastal maturation can impart.
Finish:
Generous and pure, the best of Kentucky oak and Celtic skill combine to sparkle in this superb spirit.

Bruichladdich - 18 year old - 46%
Cask:
18 years in bourbon cask and finished in Willi Opitz rare red pinot wine casks.
Colour:

Nose:

Palate:
Crème brûlée, syrup, toffee, vanilla and citrus fruits.
Finish:
Smooth.

Bruichladdich - First Edition - 20 year old
Cask:
100% fresh American Oak.
Colour:
Ripe golden barley.
Nose:
Melon balls in honey, lemon meringue, fresh apricot and kiwi. The oak fragrance unfolds beautifully.
Palate:
Generous with waves of sweet oak and barley sugar. Gentle warmth fills the chest and brings a flash of colour to the cheeks. Graceful, balanced, vivacious. The island distiller’s skill and patience, so often overlooked, can be truly appreciated in this outstanding Celtic spirit.
Finish:
Silky smooth with zesty sea notes leaving a sprinkle of salt on the lips and palate. Unmistakable Islay with warm mellowness lasting and delicious.

Bruichladdich - Second Edition - "Flirtation" - 20 year old - 46%
Cask:
Colour:

Nose
:
The spicy lush succulent Mourvèdre grapes starburst over the olfactory senses. The fragrance of sweet red fruit is sensational and proves to be the perfect stimulant for the more demure Laddie with its sweet vanilla oakiness. The potency as the flavours meld together brings elegance and complexity, each bringing beguiling aromas where neither overpowers. Do not add even a teardrop of water.
Palate:
Take the sweet malty fruit flavours of Bruichladdich together with the creaminess of toffee and sweet American oak plus the Mourvèdre affair and the outcome is a velvety smooth experience that makes this beautiful single malt just a little bit special.
Finish:
Graceful and absolutely unforgetable.

Bruichladdich - Third Edition "Islands" - 20 year old
Cask:
Colour:

Rich Mellow Mahogany.
Nose:
The bouquet is beautiful with the aromas evolving throughout. First to rise is the malt, sweet & crispy then the Madeira influence drifts upwards adding volume and its unique rich dark mellow fruit notes, then BOOM, the oaks crash the party adding nutty almonds, vanilla beans, soft caramel, a chink of peppery charcoal and nutmeg, but it aint over by any means because the lighter Laddie green fruit aromas eventually work their way in and around
the edges to bring vitality, zest and the WOW factor.
Palate:
The taste is utterly delicious, succulent and endlessly pleasing. The short time spent in the Madeira casks brings out the dark fruit, cherries, dates & plum flavour, yet they play 2nd fiddle to the natural flavours of this, the purest of Islay malts. It’s a fine marriage of two completely different Islands, one wild and windswept, the other soft and warm. They make a fine couple… welcome to the party!
Finish:
Graceful and absolutely unforgettable.

Bruichladdich - 40 year old
Distilled on 24th of October 1964.
Cask
:
Bourbon.
Colour:
Lustrous soft golden yellow.
Nose:
Opens with sensuous fragrances of butterscotch and mint, maple syrup and oak, candied almonds and sweet dark vanilla, poached pear and cinnamon. After some 20 minutes aeration the mood changes and the oak strong and mellow brings its presence to bear. Not in a dominating way because Ileachs don’t do that, but that short time has given the soft pear and mandarin orange aromas time to come forward and introduce themselves.
The yellow sherbet tingle from 40 years of maturation on the wild Atlantic Coast of Islay continues to lift this spirit at an age when most others would be tired and jaded. It’s zest for life is astonishing.
Palate:
The concentration of toasted oak bursts onto the palate with a rush of heat but slows down and turns mellow and magical. The mouthfeel is succulent soft fudge and exotic yellow fruits with a twist of lime and grapefruit, and is sublimely smooth. It’s very rare beauty can still excite and engage you for longer than you thought possible.
Finish:
This is truly the finish! The oldes Bruichladdich has now reached it’s journeys end..

Bruichladdich - Infinity - 55,5%
Cask:
100% Refill Sherry.
Colour:
Brilliant deep amber.
Nose:
Without water the harmonious notes are cream sherry, chocolate coated raisins, syrupy dates, dark cherries, soft molasses/ginger. Add some water and the scene changes, now it’s the oak, rich and strong, beautiful kiln dried barley, fruit pastilles, early summer winds, warm, soft and salty. With time all the aromas merge and flood the senses simultaneously.
Palate:
Initially focussed on the fruit and as the heat expands the palate, the layers of taste develop and coat the tongue with a generous warm texture caressing the taste buds, malty sweet, sherry coated, chocolate orange with a pinch of pepper, lemon and a dusting of candied caraway seeds.
Finish:
Complex and compelling with the dark fruits bringing closure long after the candles have burned out.

Bruichladdich - Infinity Second Edition - 52,5%
A multi-vintage Bruichladdich - assembled from several different ages combining together to make a complex, layered, single malt whisky - hence no age statement. It is more heavily peated than the 1st edition, averaging at around 20 ppm.
Cask:

Colour:

Nose:

A period of Additional Cask Evolution in Rioja casks has introduced a red berry fruit and toasted butter, oak flavours that beautifully balances with the smokiness of the peat.
Palate:
Red berry fruits, turkish delight, mellow, sweet, rich, raisins.
Finish:

Bruichladdich - Full Strength - 13 year old - 57,1%
Distilled in 1989.
Cask
:
American Oak.
Colour:
Luminous light golden yellow.
Nose:
Freshly turned dry hay, soft peppermint and ripe green apples. Lemon barley, red berries and black pepper. Ripe nectarines and fresh spring forest aromas. Then add a dash of aniseed. It’s zesty, potent and appealing. Absolutely bursting with energy. Release the genie!
Palate:
Warm salted butter and barley sugar. It’s tangy, crisp and clean on the palate. The fruit is fresh - plump green grapes, pink grapefruit, green melon. Lockets and lemon sorbet. Beautiful light oaky flavours add impressive harmony to the taste. What I really love about this spirit is simply that the taste of old style handmade whisky is so outstanding. No frills, just thrills.
Finish:
Snappy, not particularly complex spirit. A clean, lean Islay machine.

Bruichladdich 1994 - Full Strength 2nd Edition - 56,5%
Distilled in 1994.
Cask
:
100% American Oak.
Colour
:
Brightly hued Gold.
Nose:
Opens beautifully with a little water to reveal the crisp sweetness of the malt coated with syrup/brown sugar with touches of vanilla & caramel. Then the twist of Madeira oak kicks in bringing beguiling notes of plumy fruit, prune & ripe banana. This is followed by the glazed citrus fruits for which Bruichladdich is famous. The oak is cruising along very relaxed and happy in the support role. It’s a virile spirit offering a surprising level of character for its years.
Palate
:
The magical flavours of traditionally made malt whisky race over the palate seeking out every taste receptor. This is high octave without the peat. Just shed loads of barley, candied fruits, almond nougat, chocolate mint, rich Madeira berries and spice, clover honey, ripe damson & plum and lemon & honey sorbet. It’s an exceptionally exhilarating malt that wants to perform and believe me, it delivers.
Finish:
The moderate heat gives a malty extended aftertaste which ends on the freshness of the West Coast absolutely pure & completely satisfying.
