The Glenlivet - Nadurra - 16 year old - 48%
Cask:
American Oak (first fill).
Colour:
Pale gold with bright lemony shades.
Nose:
Intense, tickling. Fresh and clean. Resolutely fruity. A full basket of ripe fruit, mostly exotic. William pears, baby bananas, pineapple, coconut, a touch of passion fruit. Lemon pulp. Green apple. Gives a feeling of appetizing freshness anhanced by an aniseed fringe. Lingers on that fruity mood for ever. Creamy note of praline. In the back some herbal and spicy notes. Green tea, coriander seeds.
Palate:
Crisp, appetizing. So mouth-coating, with an oily feel immediately followed by a fizzy sensation on the tongue. Lavishly challenging for the taste buds but alcohol is perfectly tamed and never burning. Custardy. Poached peaches in a vanilla syrup. White chocolate. Aniseed lollipop. Candied ginger.
Finish:
Dry, clean, crisp. Very long. Aniseed. Refreshing. Bitter oranges. Gingery.

Opulent, mature with a Sherry influence - fruit and wood with Christmas cake, sultanas and maraschino cherry. Notes of ripe peaches, pears and marzipan pie.
Palate:
Full-bodied is unctuous and mouth coating, almost syrupy.  Oak holds the reins back, releasing a drying spiciness of cinnamon, ginger, walnut and dark chocolate.
Finish:
Everlasting and warming with lingering presence of toasted hazelnuts and a full layer of liquorice.

The Glenlivet XXV - 25 year old - 43%
Cask:
Colour:
Rich amber with ripe gold hues.
Nose:
Intense, deep, creamy. The sherry immediately signs the aromatic profile with luscious fruity and spicy notes. Polished old oak floor. It's like walking into an antique shop. Enticing scents of exotic wood (sandelwood) with a touch of ceder. Cigar box. Creamier notes rise up, like wrapped up in a delicate oaky frame. Orange crème brûlée. Candied fruits (tangerine, pineapple). Pralines. Dundee cake with raisins soaked in whisky. On time, cider apples cooked in a cinnamon syrup. Hint of damp chalky cellar wall.
Palate:
Silky, caressing. Sweet at start then releasing a full bunch of spices: ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. The spicy screen then opens on exotic fruitiness. Roasted pineapple. Developing luscious dark chocolate and orange peel flavours.
Finish:
Dry, spicy. Keeps teasing the tastebuds all the way through and comes back on a sweeter fruity note.
