1881 : established by Barnet Harvey 1886 : Reconstituted as The Bruichladdich Distillery Co. (Islay) Ltd 1889 : William Harvey takes over as Manager until his death in 1937 1924 : No 7 Warehouse built 1929 : closed and silent until 1936 1949 : New Boiler House 1968 : Bought by Invergordon Distillers (Holdings) Ltd for £40,000 1993 : Whyte and MacKay buys Invergordon 1994 : Jim Beam Brands buys Whyte And Mackay. Disitllery closed. Two men kept on to maintain the distillery, John Rennie and Duncan MacFadyen. Mr Tait moved to Fettercairn in takes over Purchased Port Charlotte Distillery Warehouses. 1995 : closed on the February 4th 2001 : re-opened; first distillation at May 29th |
