1840 : built by the brothers James en John Grant. 1898 : James, son of James Grant builts another distillery on the other side of the road: Glen Grant 2 (Caperdonich) 1973 : Stills increased from 4-6 1978 : Acquired by Seagram (Chivas) and stills increased from 6-10 2006 : acquired by Gruppo Campari (together with Old Smuggler and Braemer Scotsh Whisky) |

Glen Grant distillery was the first of five to be built in the town of Rothes. Glen Grant is a genuine single Scotch malt with 1840 provenance. The brand is currently the world's number 2 selling malt whisky and is an Italian icon and market leader. |
